About

The Hanseatic Institute of Technology and Applied Sciences (HITAS) is a newly created private institution of higher education in Douala, Cameroon. It is an academic institution with the aim to give the possibilities to brilliant and dedicated students from the Central African Region, in general, and from Cameroon, in particular,  to study with virtually the same standards of the students of renowned universities abroad.

HITAS has been authorized to open by a decision of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education dated 30 November 2021.

HITAS is situated at Bali in Douala, at the Street Richard Bell, near Kayo Elie crossroads.

 

HISTORY

The founding members of HITAS have a dream of having an academic institution of excellence which will train future graduates who are ready to be employed in existing businesses, are able to master the tasks and challenges of today and the future, or to be self-employed; an institution with future graduates that shape a better world for humanity.

Their vision is to give the opportunity to the very dynamic and versatile members of the Cameroonian diaspora, especially those in Germany, to contribute to the development of African countries through the education of the students in a structure of truly applied sciences.

THE MAIN PROMOTOR

The main promotor of HITAS is His Excellency, Prof. Dr. Dr. Maurice K. Kamga, a prominent African diplomat and scholar, who is also a Judge of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, in Hamburg, with a rank of Vice-Secretary General of the United Nations.
